Raid De Himalaya 2016 called off due to fatal crash of Subhamoy Paul

Raid De Himalaya – 2016 conducted by Maruti Suzuki Motorsports has been canceled due to fatal crash of a competitor. The competitor was identified as Subhamoy Paul from kolkata. The deceased rider was 49 years old. He rode a KTM 500 EXC in the event with comp number 208.



This disaster took place on the third day of the event Raid De Himalaya. Subhamoy Paul crashed over the Kunzum pass near Chhatru, around 17 kilometers from Gramphoo, during the Lozar to Gramphoo stage. Due to the crash, he was found with severe head injury. He was taken by the support medical chopper to Manali but it was ineffective. The event came to an end, marshals and competitors had returned to the start stage of the rally, Manali. May Subhamoy Paul’s soul rest in peace.
